Here is the final tag which I've developed in photoshop. was quite simple to do, just used a circle shape along with the text tool to make the bubble writing and a brush tool to make the drips, then filled it in with the paint bucket.
here i have applied a sphere effect over the text on the face to make it look slightly round, also i have added things onto the hair.
Here is the end result, i have duplicated some areas over the top of each other to give it some shading then used some free transform and warp tool to get everything lined up.
These are patterns i've made using a cabbage and the letter 's'. to do this i changed the colour of the cabbage by going into hue and saturation, then applied a text layer over the top. Then i flattened the image and put it into a new document and copied loads of the same layer to align them to make it look like a pattern.
Below are some rubbing's me and some friends made from textures found around the college:
This is a pattern i've made using one of the rubbings.
Archan Nair
Archan Nair is a self developed visual artist, illustrator and art director. All of his work are very bright and full of colour. In his work he uses photo's and then adds loads of things onto those images to make them stand out a lot more and bring them to life in a way.
Here is an image i made in photoshop. All i've done is get an image of a city street, applied cracked concrete textures on the ground and buildings. used the burn tool on some of the buildings, i've applied a grassy texture to the ground aswell, along with a different sky a few blacked out windows then finally used a colour variation after i had flattened the document.
Once selected, I went to select then inverse.
Then I went into refine edge, and painted the area that was white with a black and it then removes the background.
Here you can see the background has been removed and kept the made sure the hair is still a pretty good quality.
Then here I just applied a gradient layer behind everything.
Here is my storyboard, my idea is that I'm going to have a grenade rolling on the floor with a ticking noise, it then blows up and says 'Kaboom' then the dust will settle and disappear and it will then say' innovation in art and design'.
Drawing Process
Below are screenshots of the process I have gone through to draw an eye in photoshop. Took around 2 - 3 hours.
Firstly I sketch out an outline in a bright colour then made that the layer above everything. Once done I created a layer below it called face, then one below that called background. I roughly put in some lighting on the face and a block colour. For the background I painted in a few shades then used gaussian blur to make it look like the depth of field you get in photos. Here Iv made the wrinkle above the eye a little more darker giving it depth. I've also put detail into the tear duct and put shading the whites of the eye and blocked in the pupil on a seperate layer above the face.
Here I selected the eye layer to make sure I dont paint out of it. I used the bun tool around the edge of the eye and started painting in all the details.
Here I've added a highlight on another layer.
Here I've started putting in the hair and eyebrow, both on different layers.
Here I've started putting in the eyelashes using a brush tool and a smudge tool.
